Upcycled 5-panel and 6-panel caps
Artefact's upcycled caps come in two shapes: the Cirrus, a 5-panel, and the Stratus, a 6-panel with a structured fit and a curved peak. All are one size, with an adjustment strap. Head circumference is 55 to 70 cm for the Cirrus and 55 to 62 cm for the Stratus. Most of them weigh 50 grams.
Outdoor materials, depending on the model
The black Cirrus and most Stratus caps give Patagonia waterproof jackets a second life, for a highly water-repellent fabric. The khaki Stratus and the grey Cirrus are cut from Patagonia fishing waders. The Cirrus DJ reuses synthetic down jackets. The Cirrus #12, #14 and #16 are one-offs cut from Arc'teryx jacket offcuts, and the paraglider Cirrus from the ripstop nylon of paraglider wings.
Assembled in Portugal, repairable for 5 years
The materials are carefully sorted and cleaned in France, then cut up and assembled into caps in Portugal's oldest hat factory. Every cap is guaranteed repairable for 5 years: free repair, shipping included, for the first 2 years, then repair is still free (you only pay round-trip shipping).
